Welcome to the Hoodia Chat Blog Website, where visitors are encouraged to post there thoughts and comments about questions or answers they might have about Hoodia Gordonii.

We thought creating a website blog would be a must after the world has been taken by storm with this new “miracle plant” as some would call it. Many new websites where given birth since the arrival of Hoodia and we thought we’d put up our own website to descramble the growing mess that is out there to help out some web surfers who are getting more and more confused.

Hoodia also called xhoba or hoodoba is this plant that has taken the world by storm during the spring of 2004. Hoodia Gordonii is a succulent found mostly in the South African desert. Some people will ask, what is so wonderful about it ? Well… To make a long story short, some people have found out that the Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert in South Africa would go on long journeys across the desert and to fight hunger, they would take a small bite of this cactus plant called Hoodia Gordonii. By doing so, they could go an entire day without the need to eat because they would not feel hunger. Hoodia, when ingested, a molecule found in hoodia called P57 sends a signal to the brain making one feel he or she has already eaten.

Now imagine what that could mean for the western world, North America and particularly the United States where obesity has almost become normal. Most people become overweight simply because they have difficulties controlling there appetite. But if the hype surrounding Hoodia is founded - All the investigations that has been done in the past months would suggest it is - Just taking a small doze of hoodia every day, with small regular exercises combined with the supervision of a physician could only affect the weight in a positive way and not only the weight, but also the overall health in general, thus experiencing a better quality of life for all.

With all good news, comes a bad news … Since the coming of hoodia, many websites has been created where weight loss pills using hoodia gordonii as the main ingredient are being sold. From what we’ve heard and read from some non-profit Hoodia Gordonii investigation websites, many hoodia companies sell so called hoodia diet pills which contain little or no hoodia at all. So before buying a bottle of hoodia, one should always check to see if that company carries the proper license and certificate of analysis for there hoodia product.

But don’t let this scare you as there are some very respectable online companies selling very good hoodia products. We suggest you start your reading at xhoba.org, a non-profit organization who investigated many hoodia products.
